If you are in search of homely South Indian food, it is the place to go. Feels like something your mom would cook for you. The owners of the place feed you with same love and affection. Quality is really good, authentic ingredients, Tamil South Indian taste, and to top all this, nothing can beat the feeling of early morning breakfast on a Saturday morning. Feels so wholesome! Apart from the food, the sheer hard work and enthusiasm the owners exhibits is some encouragement. You made our day ! Thank you!

Simply phenomenal food! I’m visiting from California and we (group of 5) started driving towards the restaurant early morning at 7:30 without realizing that the place is takeaway only and that we needed to order the previous night to place our order for morning pick up. However, the owners (lovely old couple) still welcomed us since we had my old parents with us and made fresh, hot idlis and dosas for us. The idlis were super soft and the sambar were mindblowing! Even the masala dosa was really tasty, felt like a home cooked meal. They then treated us to some hot filter coffee. Such an enterprising couple with so much humility and care towards serving fresh, wholesome food. This recently opened place is going to become pretty big pretty soon given the quality of food and attention to detail. Make sure you order the previous night and you will get some delicious food to start your day!

Update: Had their food recently must say I was totally disappointed. I really wish their food was at least half worth the price they charge. Feeling bad to write about this but since I paid for it I must say that the food was uncooked and did not taste good. I would rethink my next visit. ==================== They’ve moved to a different place. Now it’s located inside Mumbai Kitchen just beside Panchavati store in Dundas which is very convenient. Their food is very authentic and delicious prepared after you order so there is a wait time. The filter coffee is a must have u will feel the South Indian Flavour in it. Finally they are a hard working Tamil elderly couple and such business should be encouraged. If u want a good breakfast early in the morning you must try this place. ????

//Update Based on a previous good experience, I decided to travel 25 km to enjoy some tasty homely South Indian food, even though I had other options closer to me. Before driving, I called their number but no one answered, though it showed as open on Google. When I arrived at 10:15 AM, they informed me they were closed for the day. Such a disappointment! This will affect my future willingness to travel for their food. If they claim to be open until 1 PM, they should either have food available or at least answer calls. Otherwise, they should mention limited stock. I didn't even feel they were polite today; it felt like I was being kicked out. ???? // OLD After searching high and low, we finally found this pure vegetarian spot that opens early in the morning. Hands down the best South Indian food I've had in Canada. The food tastes just like it's straight from a home kitchen—authentic, with no extra spices, preservatives, or food coloring. The uncle who runs the place is super sweet and welcoming, which is rare to find among Indians in Canada these days. It's nothing fancy, but the food is insanely tasty, made with lots of love by Aunty. They're open until 1 PM and share the premises with Mumbai Kitchen, so look for that name on the outside board. Prices are fair and affordable, and there's free parking in the front. Highly Recommended if you are nearby Mississauga, Etobicoke..

Can you give any ratings to your grandma's food? You can't, right? Well, that's how the food is at Gowri Krishna/ Mumbai Kitchen. Today was the first time I had been to the restaurant and the food was out-of-this-world. I've had South Indian food at the best places in Mumbai & Delhi, and this, was better than all of them. The only thing I can compare this to is that one time when I was at a friend's home in Chennai and his grandmom cooked the most heavenly meal for us. Why? Because you could feel the love with which the food was prepared when you have it. Gowri Krishna is managed by this beautiful elderly couple - the Aunty who makes the most delicious idlis, medu vada, dosas & the Uncle who serves it with the same kind of love one's grandfather would. Thank You so much Uncle & Aunty for sharing your cooking with everyone and giving so much love through food!!! P.S. this was the only pic I managed to take because the food was so tempting and tasty, I forgot everything else when the other dishes came.
